Camping in the Amazon
01/07/19 – 07/07/19
Iquitos, the gateway to the Amazon jungle, was overwhelming to say the least. The sheer amount of street touts trying to sell you tours was surprising and the ferocity of their sales pitches was staggering. Tom and I actually retreated back to the safety of our hostel on the first day and went out again the next day, fully fed and more mentally prepared to haggle. We met Percy Ycomena who runs Green Wild Amazon Expeditions and he helped us achieve our dream of camping alone in the Amazon Jungle. Enjoy the pictures below of our 7 day tour.
EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY…
Such beautiful life, adventure and achievement on display, your ‘grins’ say it all.
Love how you title these moments/captured images Ash….love the ‘er’ photo, plus bow and arrow war paint tribe Ashandtomdodone.com 😉
Love you massive,
Ma X
Wow, the most sensational set of photo’s EVER (save a couple of dodgy “sausage” shots!). Really capture the location, camaraderie sometimes, other-times isolation, bleakness, other-times such beauty. It all looks remarkable, but more amazing is how you to fit into it. You’ve so obviously embraced the whole experience – you’re both so exceptional as humans. We’re so, so pleased and proud – thank you for sharing your Amazon experience 🙂
Love you loads.
Anyone else feeling itchy?
Great pics, feel like I’ve been there.
Shameless plug incoming; Actually it’s a beautiful song performed by my oldest an dearest friend.
